German ? Gines' |
This is the part of the Gines family that I am a member of. The farthest back that we are able to go is a Henry Geines (notice the name spelling). The family spoke German
and so we assume that they arrived in the states in the mid 1800s from somewhere close to what is now Germany. Henry moved to Illinois from Pennsylvania. Please see our links below
for more information. |
Hispanic/Spanish Gines' |
I have received a large number of inquiries from individuals who are of a Hispanic decent. There is some indication that there is a group of Gines' in Spain as well.
Their link to the Gines from Central America is not clear however. I have almost no solid information on this branch of the family however. If anyone has any and would like to share,
I would be more than happy to publish it here. |
English Gines' |
There is a branch of the Gines name which supposedly has come from England. There is a rumor that at one time there was a web sote devoted to this branch of the family but disappeared
several years ago. If anyone has any information on this portion of the family I would be more than happy to publish it here. |
Afro-America Gines' |
I have also been contacted by several Afro-Americans whos name is Gines. From what little I have gathered most of these pointed towards the Carribean area or South
Africa. The connection between these two or the Hispanic/Spanish Gines' is not clear. |

--Henry Geines |
Henry Gines is as far back as we have been able to go. Unlike some of our other branches that we have carried back to the 1500s, we have been unable to find anything past
Henry. If you have any ideas or have additional information, we would love to hear from you. |
